The San Francisco Giants place Aubrey Huff on the D.L.
The Giants have placed 32-year old lefty swinging 1B/OF Aubrey Huff on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 11th, due to a sprained right knee. Huff was injured in the celebration for Matt Cain’s perfect game. Huff has played in 32 games for the Giants so far this year and he is 9 for 58 (.155 avg, .554 OPS) with 7 runs scored, 1 homer and 5 RBIs. The Giants have called up 32-year old righty swinging outfielder Justin Christian to replace Huff on the active roster. Christian made his season debut for the Giants in their 4-2 win over the Mariners last night and he was 0 for 3. Christian played in 60 games in AAA-ball for the Giants this year and he was 91 for 250 (.364 avg, .972 OPS) with 51 runs scored, 7 homers, 31 RBIs and 10 stolen bases.
