25-year old lefty starting pitcher Eric Surkamp is going to have Tommy John Surgery in the very near future, so he will miss the rest of the 2012 season and likely 2/3 of the 2013 season….if all goes well. Surkamp didn’t pitch at all this year in the minors or majors for the Giants. He pitched in 6 games (all starts) for the Giants last year and he was 2-2 with a 5.74 ERA and a 1.84 WHIP. He has also pitched in 71 games (64 starts) in his first four years in the minors for the Giants and he is 26-13 with a 2.85 ERA and a 1.15 WHIP.
