Giants’ fans must have been stuffing the ballot box as catcher Buster Posey, 3B Pablo Sandoval and outfielder Melky Cabrera have all been elected to start for the N.L. in the All-Star Game. 25-year old Posey will be making his first appearance in an All-Star Game. He has played in 71 games for the Giants so far this year and he is 77 for 254 (.303 avg, .851 OPS) with 32 runs scored, 10 homers, 42 RBIs and 1 stolen base. Pablo Sandoval beat out David Wright somehow. He has played in 45 games for the Giants so far this year and he is 51 for 170 (.300 avg, .832 OPS) with 26 runs scored, 6 homers and 25 RBIs. This will be his second All-Star Game. Switch-hitting outfielder Melky Cabrera has been outstanding for the Giants so far this year. He has now played in 77 games for the Giants so far this year and he is 111 of 315 (.352 avg, .908 OPS) with 53 runs scored, 7 homers, 39 RBIs and 10 stolen bases. 27-year old righty starting pitcher Matt Cain has made it to his 3rd All-Star Game as he is now the ace of the starting rotation. Cain has pitched in 16 games (all starts) for the Giants so far this year and he is 9-3 with a 2.53 ERA and a 0.95 WHIP.
